What a great first year Pelican has had! Kenny has been talking to our clients about IRS notices, audit assistance, and working on amendments and extensions, while I have been steadily making progress for our first bookkeeping clients. We are grateful for the work this community has allowed us to perform, and we look forward to providing you with excellent, speedy service in 2020.
December is a mixed bag for us - the year is winding down, but we are keeping busy getting ready for the upcoming tax season! Two things that might be of interest to our clients:
1. Update Forms: If we did your taxes last year, you will be provided with your Client Information sheet from last year, and a Client Information Sheet Review form. If your information from last year is current and correct, you will simply mark the appropriate box and fill in only a few lines to verify your identity and to indicate the services you require. On the back of this form, you have the opportunity to write down any necessary changes to your Client Information sheet.
Since the Update forms require you to review the Client Information sheet that you filled out last year, these forms are not available online and must be filled out when you arrive.
2. Drop-off Form: If you'd like to drop off your bookkeeping or tax documents, current clients will also use the Client Information Sheet Review described above. New clients will fill out a Client Information sheet, which we have updated to include a section where you can indicate the work needing done. Separate your work by years, and detail what documents you are dropping off. For example:
2018: BOK statements Jan-Dec, AMEX statements Jan-Dec, (1) W2, (2) 1099-R
In order for us to ensure that we have received all of your documents, it is important that the quantity of your forms is noted. In the example above, it is indicated that only a single W2 is being dropped off, and two 1099-R forms are also submitted.
By the way - our calendar is open for booking! Feel free to book your appointment for January, February, March, or even April! You will receive an email reminder 24 hours before your appointment, and you are welcome to reschedule if needed.
